The court appointed Special Master for the KW case has put out a new report. Her new report gives an update on the case. It also recommends a timeline for finishing the case. The key dates in her timeline are:
January 1, 2030: new budget system starts.
July 1, 2030: the date when all the action items in the KW settlement agreement must be finished.
January 1, 2030, through January 1, 2033: two years of monitoring the new system to see whether it is working right.
The Court still has to review this timeline and order a final deadline for Medicaid to put the new system in place.
The Court will hold a Status Conference this week to discuss the status of the case. The Special Master and the lawyers for both sides will meet with the judge online. The judge may make comments or give instructions to guide the next steps in the case.
