Lawyers Marty Durand and James Piotrowski will discuss how to properly document efforts to overcome hurdles in order to request additional budget dollars to raise wages, and how to prepare and bring appeals if/when budget requests are denied.

Adults using self-directed DD services are facing new challenges including difficulties hiring Community Support Workers and even Support Brokers. Rising wages are good for workers, but Medicaid budgets have not kept up, leaving many who rely on self-directed services unable to hire adequate help. In addition, it is harder than ever to find a Support Broker as fewer people want to provide these services at IDHW’s rates.

This meeting is for all adults using DD services on Idaho Medicaid’s self-directed program, their natural supports, and paid supports working to help such individuals.
